At this stage in my life I feel that I should be doing something more, a new direction-musically maybe?
I owe it to myself, and a few others, to explain what I've done in the past 15 years as Shan Miller. Hopefully this 2000 thing will do just that!
Incorporating not only my paintings but also the photographs that have played a big part. All of which is condensed into a collage commemorating not only the year 2000 but also almost 2000 images from which the public can commission anything they see in any form.
Paintings that express an individual personality are the way forward for me.
Resulting in strange requests, like the picture shown below "Doris day and Rock Hudson in 'pillow talk'"-perfect for a bathroom mural.
Stars from Stage and Screen, especially singers, have directed me into the interior design market where a painting can create a personal statement in each room reflecting a client's personality.

A great range of publicity materiel from disabled children abseiling for Skern Lodge outdoor centre to catwalk pictures for "Fassion" and "Frilly Frocks" and the slides to illustrate the successful bid by Great Torrington development trust for £1,000,000 of lottery money.
I have worked for the RHS garden at Rosemoor when they wanted pictures of people as opposed to flowers.
From time to time I give lectures to various groups, e.g. "Portraiture" to the Small School at Hartland.
I arranged a documentary record of life in Langtree village. The pictures taken and mounted in an album by the W.I. This programme was initially funded by the Gulbenkian Foundation but has since been continued by the members by their own enthusiasm and resources.
