During my third year at Plymouth University, on a Fine Arts Degree course, part of the study was contextural. For me this involved organising a visit to China to research Chinese culture and the Arts. My colleague and friend,Chi-ju ' Jerry' Tsai from Taiwan, made the arrangements for flights, visas introductions etc. We
flew to Taiwan, first, to stay for a week with Jerry's family in
Taichung. Then an upgraded first class flight to Shanhai- it was my
birthday afterall. During this trip of a lifetime we made 20 takeoffs and landings; probably curing me of 'fear of flying'. Estimated number of photos taken- 1,000 and before the age of digital cameras, The journey of approximately two months was split between Shanghai and Beijing; taking in surrounding places of interest.
